My Journey...

Gherns Calina is a Filipino independent singer-songwriter, recording artist, and vocal coach based in Manila, Philippines, with over two decades of professional experience in music.

Her professional singing career began in 2004, when she started working professionally as a singer and performing artist. Over the years, she developed extensive experience as a session and backup vocalist, working alongside established artists and productions in the Philippine music scene, including Morissette, Jessica Sanchez, Vina Morales, SB19, and other notable performers. These experiences have shaped her versatility as a vocalist and given her a deeper understanding of both live performance and studio work.

In 2006, Gherns formally began her journey as a vocal coach, marking the beginning of what would become two decades of coaching and artist development. Since then, she has worked with singers at various stages of their musical journey—from beginners and aspiring performers to professional singers, singer-songwriters, and worship leaders.

Her approach to coaching goes beyond vocal technique. She helps singers develop musicality, confidence, expression, and artistry while encouraging them to understand and develop their own unique voices rather than simply imitate others.

Alongside her work as a performer and vocal coach, Gherns continues to develop her career as an independent singer-songwriter and recording artist. Her original music draws from her experiences, faith, and personal reflections, using music as a means of authentic expression and meaningful storytelling.

Her musical journey has also extended into music ministry and worship leadership, where she continues to serve as a worship leader and contribute her experience in developing singers and musicians for ministry.

Gherns is also the co-founder of Singversation, a community created to bring singers together to learn, connect, and grow through music. Through her work as a performer, songwriter, coach, and community builder, she continues to pursue her passion for developing both the craft and artistry of singing.
